Center for Strategic Litigation is a platform that seeks to strengthen the rule of law in Kosovo through strategic litigation. The Center identifies strategic cases, or cases that can benefit many citizens, and then prepares and sends them before courts of law or the public administration. The representation of the parties in these cases is done by the lawyers or jurists of the Center for Strategic Litigation, a team dedicated to the protection of the represented person’s individual rights, as well to making a change for everyone else in the same circumstances. The Center identifies strategic cases two ways: (i) through research done at the Center, and (ii) through receiving applications from persons interested to bring their case to the Center. Group for Legal and Political Studies (GLPS) is an independent, non-partisan and non-profit public policy organization based in Prishtina, Kosovo. Its mission is to conduct credible policy research in the fields of politics, law and economics and to push forward policy solutions that address the failures and/or tackle the problems in the said policy fields. GLPS created the Center for Strategic Litigation within the auspices of the project “Human Rightivism” supported by the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) and implemented by the Community Development Fund (CDF). Strategic litigation is the litigation of cases that can benefit many citizens; cases that can serve the interest of the public in addition to serving the interest of the individual person. Strategic litigation is recognized as a powerful tool for social, political and legal reform, because its purpose is to reach broader and long-lasting change, rather than just winning the case at hand. This process also includes the use of the media, advocacy, trainings and other instruments, in order to raise the public awareness about certain issues that need to be addressed, and to pressure responsible authorities to reach the right decisions and in due time.

In order to apply you must download and fill out this Application Form  according to the instructions contained therein and submit it via email at . Also, within 3 days from the email submission, you must send the physical Application Form in a sealed envelope via registered mail at the address: Rexhep Luci Street No. 16/1, 10000 Prishtina, Kosovo.

If you believe that your rights have been violated by a public institution in Kosovo, either through an action or non-action, you can apply to bring your case to the Center. The Center aims to support those who have been harmed by the actions or non-actions of the public administration and courts of law.
